WHAT IS EPCS?

 EPCS is an Interdivisional Group of EPS (European Physical Society).

 EPCS is an association of specialists involved in control systems for experimental physics processes such as particle accelerators, tokamaks, reactors, lasers, telescopes, etc.

 OBJECTIVES OF EPCS

 The main objectives are aimed to:

  • Establish contacts between EPCS specialists world-wide;
  • Stimulate exchange of information and international collaboration;
  • Promote uniformization of experimental physics control systems.

  EPCS PARTICIPANTS

  Since its foundation in March 1986, 58 Institutes worldwide have joined the Interdivisional Group (see Member Organization). Hewlett-Packard sponsors the Interdivisional Group by the donation of computer configurations and by their active participation to EPCS endeavors. High tech industrial companies are joining as Associate or Corporate members in order to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field of experimental physics controls.

  EPCS STRUCTURE

  • The Interdivisional Group is managed by a BOARD whose members have prominent positions in controls and related technologies in their Institutes.
  • Communication with other Institutes are established through OFFICIAL CONTACT PERSONS (OCP) or REPRESENTATIVES who are officially nominated by their directorate.
